Finally

For the last several weeks I have been silent..............oh, I have been quilting .... It's just that time of year when I get in quilts that I can't show or talk about.  It's all very exciting and humbling at once.  Exciting that things that I have quilted are going off to quilt market. It is also very humbling when you load that piece on your machine and begin to quilt it ( oh my god it better be good!) so radio silence has been going on.  I did get to finish my quilt that I have submitted for fall quilt show the gathering .  I will know if my baby made the cut in October .  Below are pictures of now and forever. Start to finish Quilt for customer

Late last fall I had a customer come in and purchase several of my quilt tops that I had made over the years and have them quilted for Christmas presents.  A few weeks ago this same customer asked if I would make a king size quilt with the colors of off white, black and beige/khaki.  So this is what I came up with.  I first showed them the fabrics and the pattern I picked.  Which is a lovey pattern by Debbie Maddy of Calico Carriage Quilt Designs

Next I made a small version of the pattern. Mostly because I did not want to invent hours piecing something that just did not work for them.

After I got their approval, we are now have blocks and are at the layout stage

In the recent past, I have been piecing a quilt that I affectionatley called "monsters" a pattern by Sue Garmin  which will end up owned by my grandson Taylor some day.  It is now in my que to quilt

So now what to play with piecing ?????

Last year at the Vermont Quilt Festival I picked up at cute kit from Quilters Confectionary
this one is also applique, but animals with shoes.  I must confess I am a shoe girl (smile)
so here are a few of my blocks.  These I have decided will be embelished more after quilting.

I also have had that pleasure of quilting this cute churn dash quilt for Amanda. I did an allover pattern by Anne Bright
with YLI clear thread and poly batting
